What is Thai massage?
Thai massage is a Thai healing art that can affect the physical & energetic systems of the body/mind. There are many traditions and practices of Thai massage, but the style we offer has its roots in northern Thailand.
Liz has trained through The Thai Institute of Healing Arts both in the US and in Thailand with her main teacher Sararut Pilakun and others. Thai massage is designed to move stagnant energy, break up blockages in energy channels and rejuvenate the whole energy system. It involves compression, acupressure and stretching.

What To Expect During a Treatment?
Thai massage is practiced on a mat, on the floor. Clients remain clothed during treatments, and it is recommended to wear something loose and comfortable. The massage consists of compression, acupressure & full-body stretches--pressure & degree of stretching is always client-specific. A small amount of salve containing camphor and other herbs may be used on hands, feet, neck & shoulders. A hot towel may be used to clean the feet prior to treatment and also to clean & soothe the neck at the end of treatment. Thai massage never includes sexual contact. We take these boundaries seriously, and the practitioner or client has the right to end a session at any time if it seems that such boundaries have been compromised.
